Apr 29, 2019 I lost the original firmware of my sonoff rf without making a backup. I tried other firmwares and the box starts up and connects with ewelink without being able to register. Is it possible to have a new original firmware or to make one from a bin file knowing that I have the id and the mac address. Sonoff make a range of Wi-Fi-connected devices for various monitoring and switching applications based around ESP8266 processors. As I wasn't happy with the performance of the thermostat in the fridge in the house I'm renting I got a few of their TH16 switches with the idea of using one of them to switch the fridge on and off without freezing the food in the salad compartment.
Show MAC address in the App - MUCH NEEDED SIMPLE FEATURE
E W
I have many Sonoff devices, mostly basic switches. Once I name a device something I can no longer see the MAC address in the app. I also have several routers and APs. I would like to be able to give the devices a name in the router's database so I can identify which Sonoff is connected to what AP etc. It would be VERY USEFUL and probably very easy to supply the MAC address under device information in the phone app.
---
I also have several devices that work with the Smart Life app and it does show the MAC of each device. That has allowed me to name the devices in my router and monitor each one's status on my network.
So my request is to please improve the phone app by enabling it to show the MAC address of Sonoff devices. At it stands it is impossible to tell one from another when looking at the network unless I am missing a trick that will let me connect my device named Barn Light SW with a MAC address.

I noticed the Android app updated the other day and was hopeful that this feature had been added. Disappointed that is was not.

Acpi genuineintel x86 family 6 model 13 driver download. Yes, this feature is absolutely essential for managing a group of devices. Of course, I should have kept a record as I renamed each one, but now it's too late.
I've just spent a few hours using google WiFi to monitor traffic to see when IP got busy when repeatedly switched - eventually got the lot (and tagged them with a serial no and the last two digits of the MAC, so it should not be a doddle to match again if needed.)

Come on folks. This is not a difficult feature to include. Creates a lot of work to manage devices once they are connected if you cannot identify them at the router/switch level.

PLEASE ADD THIS FEATURE. IT IS THE ONLY APP THAT DOESN'T SHOW DEVICE MAC ADDRESS

Audi a8 d3 manual transmission. Hi, I will also appreciate this feature that is very useful for managing the devices on router level.

They did it. The latest version of ewelink shows the MAC address under settings for each device.

I just checked each of my Sonoffs (10) and they are all sitting at 2.6.0 and it says that that is the latest firmware. I'm in Australia, maybe they are rolling out the updates to regions in sequence.
Tampermonkey net. EW can you please tell me what firmware you have on your devices?
Meyknecht Werner
There is no MAC address to see in the 2.6.0 version! Also not in the 2.7.0 with the 4 channel.ITEAD we urgently need this!!!!

My devices are running firmware version 2.6.0 but that has nothing to do with showing the MAC address. The key to that is your ewelink version. Make sure you have the latest. I am running Android 3.5.6.

WiFi Configuration
How To Get The Mac Address For Sonoff Windows 10
After flashing the device and attaching standard power to it, the device should start broadcasting a wifi SSID. The SSID will match the device type followed by a period and then some characters representing the devices MAC address. For example, the Sonoff TH would look like SonoffTH.3d8883d0f90f and the SmartLife H801 would look like esprgbw.5d7d404fe294. You then connect to the AP with the password: configme.

At this point, you may automatically be directed to a captive portal for the device in order to connect it to your WiFi network. If you don’t, then open a web browser and navigate to http://192.168.4.1. Here you are presented with a few options. You can either scan for your network to connect to or simply enter the network SSID and password. Either way, it is pretty self explanatory. After it connects to the network you specified, you will be booted back over to your home WiFi and the device should show up in your routers DHCP assigned license list. You can take note of the assigned ip address for some advanced configuration down the road, but it is not necessary to finish the setup in SmartThings. Free clipper (gclip for mac.

Mac Address Lookup
Many third party devices (that are not Zigbee or Z-Wave) have a companion app that needs to be installed in order for the devices to work with SmartThings. The SmartLife versions of the devices found on this blog are the same way. You first install and publish the Sonoff (Connect) or SmartLife RGBW (Connect) SmartApps to guide you the rest of the way through the installation process. While you are at it, you might as well install the necessary device handlers that are listed on each device blog page.

At this point, go into the SmartThings app on your phone and install an instance of either Sonoff (Connect) or SmartLife RGBW (Connect). Only one instance of each is needed regardless of how many devices you install. For most people, clicking on “Discover Devices” will be the next step to take. Wait up to 5 minutes and your device should show up. Click the check box next to the device, hit next, and this will install the device for use in SmartThings. That’s it! Depending on which device it is, you may be able to do some additional configuration inside of the SmartApp, otherwise you can go back to the “Things” list, find the device, and start to play around with it. It will be a fully functional SmartThings device that can be used in other SmartApps, Routines, Phrases, etc. You can also now control the devices through Google Home and Amazon Alexa!
